Assessing the Adequacy of Private Provision for Retirement: A Living Standards Perspective

This is one of a number of background papers provided to the Periodic Report Group for their 2003 review of retirement income policy. This report, provided by the Ministry of Social Development, analyses the adequacy of private retirement income, taking a living standards perspective. It focuses on overall asset accumulation rather than solely on retirement income, taking into account assets that offset living expenses and assets that generate income.
